No. Absolutely not. While Collaborative Divorce may be a concept that is backed by integrity, it is not necessarily a working model, or a formula that appears to make much sense. The professionals at the Divorce Alternative Center are not part of the Collaborative Divorce movement in that the Center believes that as long as the strategy is built around developing two opposing teams, someone must lose, and often no one wins. The Center is designed and founded upon the belief that it takes only one strong team to win, and when there is only one team getting to the finish line, there is never a loser. We will get you to the finish line, there will be only one team, and everyone involved will be a winner.
What is offered by the SUPPORT GROUPS at the Divorce Alternative Center?
There will be support groups to allow for individuals that need assistance moving forward in their lives to find happiness. Their will be support groups (Intimacy, Women's Empowerment, Single-dad Dilemas, Men Healing From Divorce, Teens of Divorce, Teen Sexuality, Sexuality Education, LGBT Issues, and even Dating Education for safety and empowerment in moving on). There will be healthy opportunities to allow for support and potential connections to be made through commonalities of people meeting at the Center.
Will the Divorce Alternative Center provide education services along or in addition to the Support Groups?
The intention will also be for some of the Center staff to speak at corporate locations (getting approval from HR, etc) to the employees. The reasoning would be to support those who are dealing with relational challenges, divorce struggles, and decisions that are traumatic within the scope of their employment to gain support, rather than hide in isolation with the guilt of these issues juggled into thier work life. The Center intends to offer education to HR that their employees are probably going through stress whether they are in the midst of getting divorce, considering it, being drained from it, or maybe overwhelmed with the thought that they haven't even told their spouse they are about to ask for one. Their staff may just be going through stress due to lack of support in any relational or personal identity issues. It would be postured to these company HR departments that if their employees knew of the Divorce Alternative Center, this could allow for tremendous stress reduction, hence creating increased productivity at their company.
